Unable to connect to workspace

Problem:
Let’s say you see the Launch Online IDE button, not seeing this screen shown below:

And it is not because of this reason - I can't connect the my workspace after taking a break

There is a good chance that your institution is blocking access to port 8080.

Easiest way to check this:

  • Open :8080 from your mobile phone through 4G. If it loads online IDE, you can be pretty sure that a firewall is blocking you.

Solution:

  • Use Opera browser which has an inbuilt VPN to bypass firewall
  • Otherwise tether to your mobile hotspot [connection may be flaky though]
