We have to capture packets “during” filezilla operation in milestone 3. Can anyone please guide if we have to specify source/destination ip in tcpdump command.?I m confused in filtering the command. Please guide towards the approach
You can, but you don’t need specify any IP address for this milestone. Filtering can be done later as needed with better tools. It is upto you.
Hey please go through the references given below the taskboard, you don’t have to specify the source/destination IP,
You can run the tcpdump command and transfer the file over filezilla.
Hope this solved your issue.
For filtering out certain unwanted packets , you can provide any filter, (so that your size is below 2 MB), but make sure that it doesn’t affect your pcap file answer.
@Manishka1 tcpdump command captures the all packets which are going through your n/w so this command is just working like video recorder whoever(packets) comes in front of the camera (n/w) it will capture that. i hope it’s clear now.
You can refer to this post, as to understand how to filter some unwanted packets out
Thank you sir!! I got it now
Cool. Good luck in completing the rest of the tasks
Yeah!! Thank you got it
