FAQ: Can telnet be installed on Virtual Machine

For telnet, you need a network address. This could be the IP given to the VM - depends on how you set the VM’s network. The default is NAT using an internal IP which then shares the host computer’s IP to the rest of a network.

The VM is seen exactly as if it’s a normal computer, your router would give it an IP the same as it would for any normal computer on the network.
So, there is no reason to think that telnet can’t be installed on VM.
